Wedding Photography Q and A:

How many hours of wedding photography do I need? It's helpful to make a rough schedule of your wedding day to help you decide how many hours of photography you'd like. Here are some helpful tips for determining how much time you might need for each event:

- Getting ready and details: 30-45 minutes before your hair and makeup is complete gives your photographer time to take pictures of your wedding details like your dress, shoes, and special items.

- Do you want both Bride and Groom getting ready photos? If so, adding a second photographer to your wedding photography package is a great idea, or schedule in extra time at the beginning of the day for your photographer to capture both.

- Budget time for each type of portraits, including family photos, bride and groom photos, and bridal party photos. We recommend at least 30 minutes for each, and 1 hour for bride and groom portraits.

- Travel time: If your wedding events take place at more than one location, factor in travel time to your wedding schedule, as photography coverage is continuous.

- Reception Events: Make a schedule of all the events you want captured and the timeline and include some flex time in case earlier events run late.

- When in doubt you can always add more time to your wedding package on the day of, so if you are in between two packages, simply let us know and we will honor the package pricing if you decide to upgrade.

What is the retainer and is it refundable if I change or cancel my wedding date? A retainer of 1/3 of your photography package price, along with a signed contract is required to secure your wedding date to the exclusion of other bookings. This means that if your wedding date is moved or cancelled, the retainer is non-refundable, except in the case of extenuating circumstances, which will be determined on a case by case basis, at the discretion of Entwined Weddings. The reason for this policy is to ensure that our clients get the benefit of committed service on their scheduled date and that our future schedule is consistent for our prospective clients.

What if we decide we want to add more hours of photography on our wedding day? Absolutely, Entwined Weddings will keep in communication with our couples from the first meeting through to the delivery of your beautiful images and products - including on your wedding day when we will ask you before packing up if you would like any additional photography. Additional hours can be added to your invoice after the fact, and will be billed the day after the wedding. Please note that if additional coverage is requested, your images will not be released to you until your invoice has been paid in full.

General FAQ

How would you describe your photography style?
Entwined Weddings' style is a mixture of what we see and feel. Part photojournalism, and part lifestyle portrait. I find the beauty in every moment and capture it, putting together images of details and relationships to tell the genuine story of your wedding day.

Do you pose people for portraits?
Yes, we do provide direction, but never force what feels unnatural. The details and the connection are all about you. We work with your natural chemistry to make you feel comfortable and look great.

I feel awkward in front of the camera, can you help?
Of course. We have a very natural, laid back working style to help you feel like you're just hanging out with a friend, yet we can wrangle a large group of extended family and will help you with managing whatever arises. You'll be smiling and laughing in no time!

Do I get all of the photos you take?
All galleries include each image that meets our professional standard. What you receive is a finished product. Not 100% of images taken, but 100% of the best images. Personal printing rights are included with your wedding package.

I don't want my images to be displayed publicly - is that something you can do?
Yes. You may request to have a fully private gallery and that your wedding not be displayed in our portfolio and other marketing materials, but, because our business is dependent on showing the most recent work to potential and future clients, an additional $1000 fee will be added to your package cost to compensate for the opportunity to use that work to represent our services.

Do you work with a shot list/photo requests?
Yes, in fact, we send out a photo request document to you a few months before the wedding so you can let me know the details, images, and family groups that you want captured on their big day! It also helps us address possible scheduling conflicts and any other sensitive info we may need to know before the wedding day so that we can give you the best possible service. We do ask that clients refrain from requesting broad stylistic and artistic concepts, as they may not be consistent with our work or working style.

Seattle Engagement Couples Elopement and Wedding Photographer

Engagement Photography Q & A:

What is the best time to book an engagement session? If your couples session is before your wedding, allow at least 4 weeks in case you want to print or use your images in your wedding stationary, or even longer if you plan on using them in your invitations.

Can I exchange my complimentary engagement session for another hour of wedding photography? As a general rule, no. Complimentary engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other a little better before your big day - and for you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera without all of the other pressures of your wedding day, which is why they are an important part of your wedding photography package, and why Entwined Weddings offers them free of charge to couples who book for their wedding. As such, they aren't exchangeable for other services or products. If your circumstances prevent you from being able to use an engagement session (such as living in separate cities), an Anniversary session may be substituted.

Elopement Photography Q & A:

How many hours of Elopement Photography is best for my elopement? Factor in travel to your desired photography locations and length of your vows - my recommendation is to book 1.5 hours of photography per portrait location and 1.5 hours for your vows or ceremony plus wedding details, which is why I offer elopements starting from a 3 hour minimum. Elopement packages can range from 3 hours to a full day of love and photos - which is perfect for adventure elopements!

Do elopement photography packages include travel? 100 miles of round trip travel are included in your photography package price, meaning 50 miles each way from Seattle, WA. Locations further than 50 miles of Seattle cost $0.50/mile. Elopements requiring travel via plane are subject to Destination wedding pricing.

How many images are included in an elopement package? All images that meet my professional quality standard are included, in high resolution JPEG format, on your personalized wooden USB drive. Typically 40-60 images/hour or more
